Monarda didyma 'Pardon My Pink' is a wonderful addition to walkways, containers, and borders. It has a nice compact habit and glossy, dark green foliage, as well as good resistance to powdery mildew which is known to be a problem with other Monarda varieties. From mid to late summer, an abundance of pink flowers top the sturdy stems.

Grow in full sun, preferably, or dappled shade. Avoid crowding. Plant in moist, well-drained, moderately fertile soil. Amend with compost before planting. Water new plantings regularly to establish. Thereafter, do not allow plants to dry out in summer. Deadhead after flowering for rebloom. In early spring, cut old foliage to the ground; divide every 3-4 years at this time, if desired. Apply a balanced all-purpose fertilizer (e.g., 10-10-10) in spring when growth resumes.
